Inauguration Speech

We had the opportunity to listen to Barack Obama's Speech. After watching it, I wanted to see what a 2nd grader understood, so I had them write a response. I was amazed by their responses.

What did Barack Obama's speech mean to me?

That Barack Obama wants to make more places for people to work at so they can get money. And he wants to make schools learn the same amount at each school. And he wants to world to be clean and safe.

Barack's speech meant to me that he wants to help the people. He wants to help bad people be good. He wants the country to be a better place. I can help by helping others.

He wants to help clean the world. And if there is a flood and we have no food, the President will give us good. And if the President wanst the black and whites to be friends, we will.

Barack Obama's speech meant so much to me. It felt like I was there. I did not think about anything but the speech. If felt like of what I heard he wants us to help keep the world clean and he wants us to take away fear and have hope and peace to God and out country. He wants us to be healthy and polite, to be good to everyone and everything, and to be thantful to live in this country and to have all of these things. And to be a Christian so we can live longer to be safe at all times and anywhere.
